“Silang Mga Naligaw sa Limot,” a student film directed by Vahn Pascual emerged victorious in the recently concluded REALIFILM 2022 by Adamson University’s Silip@Lente in partnership with The Film Dream after winning the Best Film and Best Director awards.
This short film revolves around the story of a girl who wakes up after a typhoon surge, reminiscing all the crippling events that had happened. With the theme, “Go Overboard: Withstand Obstacles of Disarray,” their powerful storytelling paved the way for them to stand out among 12 entries in this year’s film festival.
In a Facebook post, Director Vahn Pascual expressed his immense gratitude to the film festival for winning the Best Film and Best Director awards including 5 nominations such as Best Musical Score, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design , Best Actress, and Best Film Poster.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported and appreciated our short film. This film is a call for help. The Philippines is a typhoon-prone country that deals with 20 typhoons per year on average. And yet year after year, things are just almost getting worse—constant tragedy still happens to us. Resilience should not be glorified. Instead, we should demand accountability from those in power to create a better system to lessen the devastation the Philippines experiences during times of disaster,” Pascual stated.

Realifilm is a major event of Silip@Lente—AdU that takes place every year and provides a platform for all the passionate and talented college students who create films and aspire to be a professional filmmaker in the future.
“We made this possible to give them a platform to showcase what our young filmmakers got today, their talents, passion, and dedication. Our goal is to help them shine as they continue to believe that they can contribute to the life of our country's filmmaking industry in the future,” Emelyn Bela-ong, the Academic Directress of Silip@Lente—AdU said.
