If you're a huge theater fan and grew up listening to the timeless hits of rock band Aegis, this is a solid treat for you! Reminisce the good vibes of the 90s with the longest running original Filipino musical. But worry no more because all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy at the comfort of your own homes, because the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) brings back the hit musical "Rak of Aegis," this time on your screens.

Unleash all the emotions and sing your hearts out by jamming with their digital show which will be streaming on two weekends this year-- July 31, August 1, August 7 and August 8. This an initiative project which aims to help PETA go beyond COVID since the theater industry has been widely affected because of the pandemic.

"Rak of Aegis" is a famous musical which debuted in 2014 and ran for seven seasons. It follows the story of Aileen (played by Aicelle Santos), a young girl who dreams of making it big in Youtube. She lives in a fictional setting named "Barangay Venizia" which has been submerged in floodwaters for two months.

Moreover, joining the cast is Pepe Herrera who portrays "Tolits", Poppert Bernadas as "Kenny", Robert Seña as "Kiel", Isay Alvarez- Seña as "Mary Jane", Jimi Marquez as "Jewel", Gie Onida as "Fernan", and Joann Co as "Mercy." The Rak of Aegis squad also includes Rafael Sudayan, Teetin Villanueva, John Moran, Marynor Madamesila, Matel Patayon and Lemuel Silvestre.

According to a press release from PETA, the Rak of Aegis musical streaming is a testament to the resilience of those in Villa Venezia not only in the play, but also in the Filipinos trying to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the artists who have strived to survive and thrive despite the crisis currently faced by the local theater industry.

In a time where things gets even more unprecedented, let us not forget to support our local artists. While it is true that going back to watch live musicals seems impossible for now, let us take this time to appreciate their craft and help them survive.

Go and tell your friends to purchase a ticket! One help will surely go along way and enjoy the musical show with your whole family. A family bonding like no other!
